Explore college websites

A lot of colleges have a section on their websites to advertise jobs.

If you have a particular college or location in mind, starting with a college website can be a good place to begin your job search.

How to fill out an online application

Some colleges allow you to apply for their jobs through an online application form.

  • We recommend setting aside 30 minutes to 1 hour per application. Make sure to give yourself enough time to read through it and think about your answers.

  • This will be quicker if you have prepared documents like your supporting statement and CV in advance.

  • Remember, they are likely to ask you about your working history, qualifications, criminal record, and National Insurance number so have that information ready.

  • The application process will differ depending on the type of role and organisation you are applying for.

Look for opportunities to get experience of teaching

Colleges sometimes have training days and taster sessions for people to attend.

Check their website or follow the colleges on social media to get alerts for upcoming sessions.
